Why it is called the chimp test
The test is based on research at Kyoto University, where a young chimpanzee named Ayumu memorized the positions of numbers flashed on a screen for a fraction of a second — outperforming university students. It tests working memory for positions and order at once.
Strategy
Before clicking 1, trace the path from number to number with your eyes. Remember the route as a shape rather than as separate positions. Most people complete 8–10 numbers.
